Riders were treated to one of the best days on offer as RBP promotions conducted the inaugural Dirt Bike Demo Day at Calder Park Raceway on Sunday the 19th giving enduro riders the opportunity to test all the latest enduro bikes.
KTM, Husqvarna, Sherco, Yamaha, Beta and Suzuki got together with their latest enduro bike weapons giving paid up riders the opportunity to test ride each bike. In a continuation from the recent off road events at Calder Park, Dave Robbins from RBP promotions put together a 15 minute one off Enduro loop so each of the 120 riders could put their chosen machine to the test and compare bikes before they buy.
The try before you buy concept was so well received by manufactures and riders that further motorcycling industry leaders came on board for the day. Monza Imports, together with POD knee braces, Matrix, Fox, Chads Off Road set ups, Force Accessories, Moutainshade canopies were all there showcasing the latest in bike gear and set up technique in real live testing situations.
Dirt Bike Demo Day promotor Dave Robbins said, “The response we have had from riders, dealers and trade has been very positive. The dealers are happy they have got genuine customers coming to test their bikes. The riders are happy they can test each machine on the same track to make an informed decision on their next dirt bike. It’s like taking the bike shop to the customer and having an opportunity not previously available for all models at once. The Enduro loop marked out on the hills at the back of the thunderdome tested every Enduro rider’s skills. From tight flowing undulating tracks, to sand sections, creek crossings, up and down hills and then finish off with a grass track MX at Calder Raceway. We even left the fun parts of the Enduro-x track in. Every rider made a comment on how good the track was and when we are going to have our next event there.”
Each rider had the opportunity to book in 5 rides of the very latest dirt bike machinery. With 25 new models to choose from and 35 bikes on offer the pits rider change over area was like a cross country race.
Riders and Dealers alike are asking when the next Demo Day event will be on.
Organisers are close to announcing a new date and venue when new models arrive.
The winner of the 3 x3 Moutainshade was Craig Gathercole.
From the organisers a big thanks to the dealers, the riders, the trade, the Calder Park raceway management for what promises to be a ride/trade day of the future.
